Bifold Brochures from Desktop Supplies

April 29, 2011 on 3:39 pm | In Brochure Paper, New Products! | No Comments

Bifold Brochures are great for use as brochures, pamphlets, programs, and much more! This paper stock is scored down the middle for easy & clean folding. The final product measures 5.5″ x 8.5″ after folding.

To many, the idea of a paper stock pre-scored to fold in half may sound a bit unnecessary, but there are many advantages to it! The first advantage is that the score allows you to fold the stock quick, accurate, and easy- making big projects a whole lot easier! Another great advantage is the smooth edge of the score. If you fold a heavier weight paper stock in half, you will notice a rough, cracked crease. This is because the stock is not made to be folded. Once we add the score, this eliminates that problem by penetrating through the stock enough that it folds easily without any cracking!

So if you are looking for an easier way to create a folding 5.5″ x 8.5″ product made from paper stock, try our new Bifold Brochures! If you are looking for a cover stock, check out our large folding greeting cards!

Printing Door Hangers with our Door Hangers Template

April 14, 2011 on 4:14 pm | In Tutorials | No Comments

This is a random post, but we have been getting some inquiries about printing on our Blank Door Hangers. Printing Door Hangers is not that hard, all you need is the right tools!

Just like any of our other products, we offer a Door Hangers Template available in the 2up or 3up style. Start by downloading the Door Hangers Template (available for Microsoft Word) from our website. Once downloaded, open the Door Hangers Template and begin editing. Use Google Images to get an idea of some great designs. Microsoft also has some door hanger templates available- plus, you can browse for background or other clip art to create your own!

Once your door hanger is all set up, run a test print on a plain piece of printer paper and make sure that the templates line up with your blank door hangers stock. Once you are ready, insert the stock and print out 1 sheet. Make sure everything looks good, make any necessary adjustments, and when you are ready, print away!

Good Luck Printing Door Hangers!

New Products from March

April 4, 2011 on 12:01 pm | In Announcements, New Products!, Postcard Paper | No Comments

In March, we added some great new products, but also added some of our older products. We did a little spring cleaning and turned up a whole assortment of pre-printed stock that has been discontinued and is not currently listed on our website. The best news is that we priced these products at a great discounted rate, but hurry because we have limited stock!

11″ x 17″ Postcard Stock

March 30, 2011 on 11:59 am | In New Products!, Postcard Paper | No Comments

Today we released our new 11″ x 17″ Postcard stock on our website. This stock is perfect for customers with large printers that can handle the 11″ x 17″ stock- even better for customers that pay-per-print (see “Our Reason for Creating” below to learn more).

This stock is basically like our 2up or 4up postcard stock except doubled. Rather than having 4 postcards measuring 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, we can fit 8 postcards measuring 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ on an 11″ x 17″ stock. We also retained the benefit of microperforation- eliminating the need to cut the stock after printing!

Our Reason for Creating This Product
About a year & a half ago, we purchased a Xerox DocuColor 242 printer. This printer prints on up to 13″ x 19″ stock. Rather than having to purchase toner for the printer, Xerox supplies it to us for “free”- we just pay a fixed amount per sheet printed. The catch with this is that it does not matter what size print we make or how much coverage we use, the printing cost will always be the same. One day, we were interested in printing on our 4up postcards on the 8 1/2″ x 11″ size. The 4up postcards are great because they do not require any cutting after- just print & break apart. We realized that if we had an 11″ x 17″ stock with the same type of postcard format, we would actually save half the money by printing 8 per sheet rather than 4. Thanks to Desktop Supplies, now you can save that money too!
